National Children's Week is a celebration of children, their rights, their voices, and their contributions to our communities.
Consistent with Article 30 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, we believe every child has the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practice their religion.
The Ombudsman WA plays an important role in West Australia's child safeguarding system. Through the Reportable Conduct Scheme and Child Death Review functions, we help strengthen accountability, oversight and learning across the system. We are also designing the Child Safe Standards Scheme to help organisations create safer environments for children across the State.
This National Children's Week we'll be adding publications here to highlight how our existing child safety work connects with Children's rights.
