During March we were out around the state talking with a range of organisations, businesses and community members about how independent ombudsman services can help when issues escalate with a government agency, or energy or water provider.

Ombudsman WA’s work was recognised at the Institute of Public Administration Australia WA (IPAA WA) W.S. Lonnie Awards for public reporting, winning the Alan Skinner Trophy and the Bronze Award in the General Government Sector of Agencies with under 100 FTE’s.

The Ombudsman tabled 'A Review of Family and Domestic Violence in Western Australia' in Parliament on 19 March 2026. The review examined how government agencies respond after police attend family and domestic violence incidents.
